You are probably asking, “What does Ujima mean”?
Ujima is the third of seven principles of Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration of African heritage and culture in the United States. It means “collective work and responsibility; to build and maintain our community, while working with others to solve our problems.” Philadelphia Ujima Coalition for a Healthier Community does just that! We work with communities across Philadelphia, helping people develop and maintain healthy behaviors that will last a lifetime.
Philadelphia Ujima Coalition for a Healthier Community is funded by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Women’s Health.
